From growing up on the country side in a small town in Sweden, to now living in Redondo Beach, California could almost not be more different. Except, both towns/cities are on the west coast by the water. I’ve always loved decorating so when the different seasons comes around I need to change out the decorations. For example, in Sweden for Easter we decorate a bundle of sticks with feathers and eggs, I would describe it as an Easter tree in English. At home (in Sweden) I would just go outside and cut some branches of a birch tree and be done. Here (in Redondo), I’ll have to go to Trader Joes or Michaels and BUY branches.. $5.99 for like three sticks. In my mind – Ridiculous. But what am I suppose to do?
Don’t get me wrong, I love Redondo Beach and everything California has to offer. But it’s also lacking some things that I really miss. With the holiday season being around the corner and Christmas cards are in the making, shooting some awesome Christmas photos with pine trees has been on my To-Do list.
I saw some pictures with pine trees that were apparently shoot in Palos Verdes Estates (according to Instagram’s Geo location) so I decided to go tree hunting. Where are those Pine trees at?!
After about 1.5h in the car driving around searching for pine trees, I finally found THE tree that I had seen in that picture. Much to my disappointment, it must have been an old photo that I saw because oh boy what a sad tree. Looking nothing like the photo. I knew it was that one because of the surroundings, but it was a much more naked version than the one in the picture. But I found it, mission completed! Still need to take those Christmas photos with a pine tree so I guess I have to find another tree…
Here are some photos of Photographedbykels that I took the same day:
